Btw I have also had M140i for some time, and I could also manage to get consumption to 7l on long journeys even in comfort/sport mode, and that's why I know this is the completely unrealistic driving profile long-term. You can do it - yes, but this is not gonna be your overall one, no matter how hard you want to post your funny short-drive pictures here. Only factory consumption is the real one.

I couldn't check factory consumption in F series BMWs, but after every reset it was around 8.5-10, which was still super good in my mind! And F20 is also a lot lighter than G20/G21, so please don't be funny with your 6l being anything close to realistic.

What a keyboard hero, saying the same thing every few months and demanding justifications or questioning the choice of engine.👌😂

No no, I am always saying that the last generations of B58 are the best overall engines on the market, there is no doubt in my mind.

But I can't stop laughing when some people take so much time, that they spend torturing themselves for 700+ km in eco mode, just to "prove" that their consumption is 6l 🤣

Wow congrats guys, you managed to drive 700 km at avg speed of 100km/h, without any fast accelerations and got consumption of 6l.

Even M5 can come close to that with such driving profile lol. But than if you look at your factory consumption it is still over 10l, and not 6l 🤣🤣

Seit Übernahme des Fahrzeugs (M440i Cabrio) im Mai 2022 liegt der Gesamtverbrauch bei 7,4 l / 100 km; s. a. die Werte im 'Spritmonitor' bei meinem Profilbild.

    Ciao

    Toscha

Hmm on mostly long journeys completely possible for sure, but combined consumption with some city and spirited driving...not really possible with 1800kg and 400hp :)

With nearly 63k km i got 11,5l

You at least know why you bought the M340i💪

I think most will be around 10.5-11l since factory consumption, that's why I find it so funny when some decide to make a painfull 700km journey in ECO mode, just to show a picture here :P

We all know it it the best performance/efficiency engine , but c'mon...

Any from factory consumption pictures here? :)

I doubt many have < 10l/100km (around 10l is still super good for the power/performance, don't get me wrong).

But these short journeys with 6l consumption are a bit irrelevant and not real-life scenario in most cases.

I can only report from a 330d that takes between 9 and 11 liters depending on driving style. With 1.6 tons on the hook.

From late summer I can at least report on the B58 in the form of an M240i.

So I'm curious if anyone has anything to say on the subject:thumbup:

How many more litres does M240i consumes than G20 330d with the same driving profile? I am thinking of changing it to B58, so that would be most relevant comparison. Maybe I can add up to 0.5l for G21 M340i.

Don't be mad now, I was only saying that it doesn't make sense in finding "lowest theoreticaly possible consumption for M340i" in 20 pages. I actually went through all topic, and of those 20 pages only 2 or 3 people stated the actual (realistic) avg consumption.

We all know that B58 is best BMW engine, but to say 7-8l consumption is normal, is just not true if your average is 10l+ from the factory. Nobody cares about 200km of granny drive, but maybe what we could expect in reallity, specially if we want to change from B57...

Sure, 10.5l is very good for such power and also realistic.

I just don't get people here, buying M340i and than reseting counter to drive like a granny, just to brag here on forum that their rocket have a consumption of "7.2l". I would be ashamed to even admit that in M340i lol, even less so trying to force it just to make a stupid post
